He recorded 26 RBI, 12 doubles and went yard four times. Wideman had the second-longest hitting streak of all Tigers, recording a hit in nine games from April 25 to May 7. At San Francisco on Mar. 12, Kurt batted four-for-four with a solo home run, accounting for Pacific's only run in the 9-1 loss. On May 16, Wideman went three-for-four at the plate with three doubles, one walk and two RBI in the Tigers' 17-5 routing of Cal State Northridge. Defensively, his 199 putouts put him second overall for the Tigers in 2008.<b>2007 (Sophomore):</b><br>Kurt started his first game as a Tiger behind the plate in the first game of the 2007 season. He went on to appear in 41 games as a sophomore, including 32 starts. Splitting time at catcher and first base, Wideman finished the season with a .205 batting average, with 27 hits, eight doubles and 16 RBI. Wideman finished third on the team with five home runs and committed just five errors on the year. Kurt got his season off to a hot start in his second start as he was two-for-four with three RBI and a run scored in the Tigers' 12-0 win over Cal State Northridge on Feb. 4. Wideman's best offensive game of the season came on Mar. 16 at San Jose State. Kurt blasted two home runs and finished with three RBI in the Tigers' 5-3 win.<b>Previous School (Palomar JC):</b><br>Wideman played at Palomar Junior College in 2006, helping the Comets win the Pacific Coast Conference with a 30-14 overall record. The starting backstop for the Comets, Kurt hit .244 with 21 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 22 RBI.<b>High School:</b><br>Kurt graduated from Fallbrook Union High School in Fallbrook, Calif., in 2004. A three-year letterwinner with the Warriors, Wideman hit .404 with 14 doubles and nine home runs to help Fallbrook Union to a 30-4 record in 2004. Wideman also notched 38 RBI in his senior season. Following both his junior and senior seasons, Kurt was named to the All-Avocado League First Team. In the classroom, Wideman was named to the principal's honor roll during his senior year.<b>Personal:</b><br>Kurt Wideman is the son of Carl and Cheryl Wideman. Kurt has one sister, Kristin (26).
